Welcome to Lawelty ("Lawelty", "we", "our", or "us"). By accessing or using our website, platform, or related services (the "Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you must not use the Services.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Lawelty. By using the Services, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
2. Account Registration
You may be required to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to provide accurate and current information and to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
3. Use of the Platform
Lawelty connects clients with agents and independent legal professionals and provides administrative and membership-related services. You agree to use the Services only for lawful purposes.
Lawelty is not an insurance provider and does not offer insurance products. Lawelty does not provide financial protection, reimbursement, or compensation for any fines, penalties, or legal expenses.
Membership fees are paid for access to the platform, coordination services, and administrative support, and not for any specific legal outcome or event-based service.
You must not:
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Provide false or misleading information
- Upload harmful, illegal, or infringing content
- Impersonate another person or entity
- Attempt to disrupt or compromise platform security
4. No Attorney-Client Relationship
Lawelty is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Your use of the platform does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and Lawelty.
Any legal relationship is solely between you and the independent legal professional you choose to engage.
Membership does not create any entitlement to specific legal services or outcomes and is subject to availability, provider acceptance, and plan limitations.
5. Independent Service Providers
Agents and legal professionals available through Lawelty are independent third parties and are not employees, partners, or representatives of Lawelty.
Lawelty does not control, direct, or interfere with the legal judgment, strategy, or services provided by these professionals.
Lawelty does not endorse or guarantee the quality, outcome, or legality of services provided by these professionals.
6. Payments and Subscriptions
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Lawelty does not store your full payment details.
Subscriptions may renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless canceled before the renewal date. You authorize recurring charges in accordance with your selected plan. Pricing, billing cycles, and features are disclosed at the time of purchase.
Lawelty may compensate legal service providers as part of its internal platform operations and service delivery structure. Such payments do not constitute payments made on behalf of the user and are not compensation for any financial loss.
7. Refunds and Cancellations
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account. Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period unless otherwise stated.
Fees are generally non-refundable except where required by law or explicitly stated at the time of purchase.
8. User Content and Documents
You retain ownership of any information or documents you submit. By submitting content, you grant Lawelty a limited license to store, process, and transmit such content for the purpose of providing the Services.
You are responsible for the accuracy, legality, and appropriateness of your content.
9. Privacy
Your use of the Services is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
10. Intellectual Property
All platform content, software, trademarks, and branding are owned by Lawelty or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written permission.
11. Third-Party Services
The Services may integrate with third-party providers such as payment processors or communication tools. Lawelty is not responsible for the availability, security, or performance of third-party services.
12. Service Availability
We strive to keep the Services available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Lawelty is not liable for delays, interruptions, data loss, or failures caused by technical issues, third-party services, or events beyond our control.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lawelty shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or business arising from your use of the Services.
Lawelty is not responsible for any legal outcomes, financial consequences, penalties, or damages related to any matter handled by independent legal professionals.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lawelty and its affiliates from any claims, damages, liabilities, or expenses arising from your use of the Services, your content, or your violation of these Terms.
15. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, non-payment, suspected fraud, misuse of the platform, or where required by law.
Upon termination, your access to the Services will cease.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the Province of Ontario. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Ontario.
17. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
18. Vehicle Use and Plan Selection
Members are responsible for selecting a membership plan that corresponds to their actual vehicle use (including, without limitation, personal use, rideshare or delivery activities such as Uber or Lyft, or commercial use). By subscribing, the Member confirms that the selected plan accurately reflects how the vehicle is used.
If, at any time, the actual use of the vehicle differs from the selected plan, Lawelty may require the Member to upgrade to the appropriate plan before facilitating further services. Services are provided in accordance with the selected membership plan and its applicable scope. Sent from my iPhone
