About Us
Learn how Lawelty helps drivers in Ontario manage traffic matters with professional legal support.
What is Lawelty?
Lawelty is a legal support membership for drivers in Ontario. We help drivers deal with traffic tickets by coordinating their case with licensed legal professionals, such as paralegals, who handle traffic matters under Ontario law. We do not provide legal advice ourselves — we organize, coordinate, and manage the legal process on your behalf.
How does the monthly membership work?
You pay a fixed monthly fee based on your selected plan. If an eligible traffic matter occurs, your membership gives you access to professional legal handling without paying a large upfront legal retainer. Your membership is designed to make legal support predictable, accessible, and stress-free.
What does my monthly fee actually cover?
Your monthly membership fee covers the full handling of an eligible traffic matter through the standard legal process, including:
Case intake
Legal coordination
Preparation of your matter
Initial court appearance by a licensed legal professional
Does Lawelty represent me in court?
Lawelty itself does not appear in court. Court matters are handled by licensed legal service providers, such as paralegals, who are authorized to represent clients in traffic matters. Your membership covers coordination and the initial court appearance by the licensed professional handling your case.
What is an "initial court appearance"?
An initial court appearance means that a licensed legal professional attends court for your matter as part of the standard legal process. This may include scheduling, attending, and managing the first court appearance related to your traffic charge.
What does "case preparation" mean?
Case preparation means your matter is reviewed and organized before court, including:
Reviewing the charge
Reviewing relevant documents
Preparing how the matter will be handled in court
What are legal consultations?
Legal consultations are scheduled calls with a licensed legal professional where you can ask questions, understand your situation, and get guidance on next steps.
Schedule A: up to 5 consultations per year
Schedule B: up to 10 consultations per year
Schedule C: unlimited consultations
Each consultation is up to 20 minutes and may be conducted by phone or online
Do you guarantee results or ticket dismissal?
No. Traffic matters depend on the facts of each case, applicable law, and court discretion. Lawelty does not guarantee outcomes, reductions, dismissals, or avoidance of penalties. Our role is to ensure your matter is handled professionally and properly.
Coverage & Ticket Types
Coverage depends on your selected plan:
Schedule A focuses on common traffic offences
Schedule B includes higher-risk traffic matters
Schedule C covers complex, commercial, and high-risk driving matters
Some high-risk matters, like stunt driving, receive limited initial legal response and defence coordination under Schedule C
Commercial or professional driving coverage
Commercial or for-compensation driving matters are covered only under Schedule C (Premium / Fleet Coverage). Schedules A and B are designed for private, non-commercial drivers.
Before You Get a Ticket
Your legal consultations allow you to speak with a licensed legal professional before issues escalate, helping you understand risks and options in advance.
Is Lawelty a law firm?
Lawelty is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. We act as an intermediary that connects members with licensed legal service providers and coordinates the legal process.
Why choose Lawelty instead of hiring a lawyer directly?
Traditional legal services often require large upfront retainers. Lawelty offers:
Predictable monthly pricing
Access to licensed legal professionals
Professional case handling
Reduced stress and confusion
When does my coverage start?
Coverage begins after your membership is active, required information is provided, and a licensed legal service provider is engaged for your matter. Only matters occurring after your membership starts are eligible.
Can I cancel my membership?
Yes. Memberships may be cancelled according to the terms outlined in the Member Services Agreement.
Final reassurance
Traffic issues happen. Lawelty exists to make sure you're not dealing with them alone.
